Abstract We draw a multimessenger picture of J1048+7143, flat-spectrum radio quasar known to show quasiperiodic oscillations in the ? -ray regime. generate adaptively binned Fermi Large Area Telescope light curve this source above 168 MeV find three major flares source, such that each consists two sharp subflares. Based on interferometric imaging data taken with Very Array, we kiloparsec-scale jet is directed west, while our analysis 8.6 GHz very long baseline interferometry data, mostly Long Baseline revealed signatures parsec-scale jets, one pointing east, south. suggest misalignment kiloparsec- and jets revealing signature precession. also analyze 5 total flux density J1048+7143 Nanshan (Ur) RATAN-600 single-dish telescopes complete flares, lagging slightly behind flares. model timing as spin–orbit precession supermassive black hole binary, binary could merge next ?60–80 yr. both pulsar arrays planned Laser Interferometer Space Antenna lack sensitivity frequency coverage detect hypothetical J1048+7143. argue identification sources similar plays key role periodic high-energy distant universe.
